How It All Started

In 2022, Jon was working with a student hitting putts, and wondered, “how can I figure out if the ball is starting on line?” After a few more putts, he also came to the realization that there needed to be a way to quickly determine where the line on the ball is aimed. Over the next 3 years, he developed several prototypes which he tested with the help of his players to ultimately create this training tool. GateMate solves those two unique problems: is the ball starting on line and is that line aimed where you want it?
